Hello everyone! For most of my virtual friends I am known as Matilde and my place in the network is craftowanie.blogspot.com. I'm really happy living in Poland/Europe. My adventure with scrapbooking started 11 years ago and it doesn't want to finish :) You can find among my works mostly tags, ATC's, layouts, art journal pages and albums. I'm constantly looking for new methods of expression and discovering that paper and media bring various possibilities to create. Besides scrapbooking I like reading books and gardening. I really love all my hobbies and they make me happy every day :)

Matilde:  My project for the challenge Romance & Rose is an album for romantic photos. Always when I think ROMANCE, I think about everyone who I love. So that album is the best way to keep the memories alive. I decorated the cover with a stamp of wild roses from AB Studio Aga Baraniak. I painted them in watercolours. They're pink, because this colour is associated for me with romance and roses :)

FEBRUARY 2021 Main Challenge 2nd Reveal - ROMANCE AND ROSE

Welcome to the 2nd reveal of our February Main Challenge! Since this month is usually associated with love and romance and St Valentine's Day, we have a beautifully romantic challenge board to inspire you. We also have a special offer from one of this month's sponsors, so keep reading to find out what that is!

This month, we ask that you think about ROMANCE and add ROSE to your project.

As always, our Main Challenge is based on a word inspiration and a creative challenge. The word inspiration can appear on your project or not but you must show that you have been inspired by it. The creative challenge must be used on your project!

Helpful Tips For The Challenge

February is the month for ROMANCE! How will you share your feelings about that special person? Maybe you'll choose to create about a famous romantic relationship, a photo of a couple dancing. or the long marriage of your grandparents. Artists of the Romantic Period could be a great inspiration.

Whatever you decide, we need to see a ROSE on your project. Or maybe you'll add the color ROSE instead? It's up to you!

And now let's look at our second DT Inspiration for this month:

AGA MIRKOWSKA

Aga: When I was a girl I used to dream about a ROMANCE with a prince. Unfortunately, not every dream comes true, but making this layout allowed me to express that feeling and I can present you this "romantic story." I used AB Studio papers with beautiful, pink ROSES. I also added sparkling lace, molds painted with mists and waxes, fabric flowers with gold splashes, and gold elements from the AB Studio Glam Paper set. It’s really nice to feel like a little girl sometimes.

ANNA IWANOWSKA

Anna: When it comes to ROMANCE my favorite one is the one with my partner. I decided to make a layout with photo from one of our travels. Dark but at the same time delicate background, light soft papers with ROSES and some delicate embellishments - that's all I needed.

ASIA SZCZUROWSKA

Asia: We experience more that one ROMANCE in our lives but only at the end we find out which one of them was a real thing. Lucky are those who managed to discover it and spend as much time as possible with the one. ROSES and rose color are universally identified as a symbol of love. I used AB Studio products.

AUDE DEMANNEVILLE

Aude: Here is my contribution to the February challenge. The word ROMANCE inspired me to transform the caterpillar into a butterfly. I loved using the color ROSE which symbolizes delicacy and purity.

DANA TATAR

Dana: I'm thankful everyday for the ROMANCE I share with my husband. We recently celebrated our 17th wedding anniversary. I was 17 when I asked him to attend our high school homecoming dance! I knew that night he was "the one" for me. I used a non-traditional color palette for a love-themed layout and fulfilled the creative challenge by adding blue ROSES.

EMMA ZAPPONE

Emma: There is nothing better than the ROMANCE of an old love, growing together and enjoying life together, that’s real romance to me. For the creative challenge I chose to use the color ROSE and roses embellishments.

HEIKES AUGENBLICK

Heikes: Scrapbooking in a mixed media style is my passion, my joy and the secret of my energy. Creating to me is like finding my inner self, my soul. It gives me a great joy to see my creative corner in our living room. When I create, I can feel the ROMANCE between me, my mediums, my papers, and everything around me. I added the word ROMANCE in big black letters to my background. For the creative challenge ROSE, I have chosen the color ROSE.

PRIYA MISHRA

Priya: I'm a hard-core romantic and love everything related to romance, be it a romantic story or candles or roses. I love this month's challenge. For the Word Inspiration ROMANCE I used a romantic photograph of a couple and some romantic quotes in the background. For the Creative Inspiration I used a lot of fussy cut ROSES and two paper roses.

SHARON FRITCHMAN

Sharon: I used to spend hours looking through my mom's scrapbooks and photo albums. To me, my mom and dad's love story was the epitome of ROMANCE. I loved to hear how my dad came home from Germany (he served in the army) to see my older sister's birth. This photo of my mom holding my sister, with my dad's arm around her, is one of my favorites! In addition, my mom loved roses, so using ROSES on my page just felt natural to me. I fussy cut roses, used "Winter Rose" patterned paper, a prima metal rose, and paper roses throughout my layout. I hope you get some inspiration to make a romantic page with roses, too!

  

And now for some of those changes I mentioned above. There will no longer be Runner Up, Random, or Mystery Winners for our Main Challenge. This year we have changed to a Regional Prize structure, whereby there will be multiple Main Challenge Winners, one or more for each Region. The number of Winners/Prizes for each Region is dependent on the number of Sponsors for that Region. Some of our Sponsors remain International Sponsors, but many are now Region specific. It is now more important than ever that you add your NAME and COUNTRY to your Inlinkz entries!

And now let's look at our first DT Inspiration for this month:

ELLE WILSON

ROMANCE and flowers always go hand in hand so I made that the title of my page and flowers the focus of my art journal spread using collage, paint, ink, etc. The bouquet of ROSES for the rose requirement came from a magazine, and then lots of blossom around the rest of the page using a paper serviette. 

HEATHER MCMAHON

 

The word ROMANCE inspired me to create about the fun my husband and I still have after being together for 37 years.

I cut circles from the ROSES paper from ArtStacks and featured a large rose on one of them.

JINAL SAVLA

For me when I hear the word Romance... it means countless cuddles and snuggles, uncounted hugs and kisses, entangled fingers, cheering for your victory or just being beside you in your low times... Romance has inspired me to create this layout using my wedding pictures.. the unforgettable memories I shared with him..

 

KAT PALECZNY

For this month's challenge, I created romantic canvas ROSES. For the Word Inspiration ROMANCE I used wedding photograph of a couple surrounded by paper roses.

"The essence of romance is uncertainty"

My partner missed the relationship romance memo in life, so its been my job for many years, that is wearing thin now.

MARIE JOHANSSON

This was a really hard challenge for me. I consider myself a not so romantic person, and my partner is even worse than me. So maybe the lack of roses in my life is the reason why this was so much trouble.... Well, sometimes you just need to go with the task given - and who is not up for a challenge? Again I ended up making a Art Journal spread. I find that a perfect media to just try out my skills and dare to fail. I picked up what rose themed papers I could find, fussy cut them and added to the pages. I picked up the colors from one of the roses and gave the pages a soft tone of pink. I could not resist adding a bit of gold - that feels romantic too.... I'm actually really happy with how this turned out and maybe there is a string of romance hidden somewhere in me .... 

OLYA RAGOZONI

Olya: Hi, everyone! I love mixed media and I like to create altered scrap.

I added the lettering "Holiday ROMANCE" for my mixed media photo frame about my niece. She is young and pretty! And she has everything good and romantic ahead! I used ROSES on my photo frame, painted them.  Sponsor topping 13Arts

SARAH DORGERE

The word ROMANCE immediately made me think of my wedding and our exchange of rings. Anyway who thinks about marriage, thinks flowers and ROSE especially.  I find that this collection of AB Studio paper lends itself wonderfully to this theme.

Hello!  February is a month of love. For February the main challenge word inspiration is ROMANCE and the creative challenge is ROSE!  I am inspired by both challenges and I always believe if you can first love yourself then only then can you give true and pure love to others ...

“ TO LOVE ONESELF IS THE BEGINNING OF A LIFELONG ROMANCE !” As at the end all we need is love. I have used die cuts of roses and even flowers in my shadow boxes.  Hope you like it
