Introducing The More Than Words 2020 Design and Administration Teams!

A new year is fast approaching and we have some very exciting changes
happening at More Than Words in 2020. You'll have to wait until January 1st to find
out how we're changing but, for now, we'd like to announce that we've selected not only a new Design team but a new Admin Team as well!

Our teams are filled with fabulously talented ladies who
we hope will inspire you in 2020. Some current members are staying on with
us for another year, and some are brand new.
We are very excited to introduce you to them all!

First of all though, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to all of you who took the
time to apply to our Design Team Call.
We were truly impressed with all the talented applications we received.
It certainly made our job very difficult!
Although we weren't able to pick everyone, we do hope that those of you who missed out will apply again when the next Design Team Call is made.
Thank you SO MUCH for your support of our challenge blog!

Without further ado, we would like to introduce you to our 2020 teams:

Change brings growth, and we are very excited to see
the creativity our new teams bring in 2020!

Unfortunately, along with happy hellos, also come sad farewells.

Firstly, it is with great sadness that we say farewell
to two members of our Administration Team:

NICOLE DOIRON is one of our founding members and has been a crucial cog
in the workings of More Than Words. She has worked tirelessly to bring our
challenges to you for four years now. Her ideas and knowledge were always
greatly appreciated and respected.

Also taking a break is CAROLINE ELLIAM.
Caroline joined the Administration Team nearly three years ago and has been
a reliable and highly-valued member of our team ever since. Her knowledge of all things to do with the online world has been a great help to all of us.

We will miss you both enormously!

The following 2019 Design Team members will be heading in new

Special Guest Spotlight on
KARINE SMOUTS

We are so pleased to introduce to you another fabulous guest
here at More Than Words. We have been admiring her beautiful work for a while and we are happy that she has agreed to join us!

Let's learn a little more about Karine Smouts through her own words:

I am Karine, aka Smokascrap, and I live in Southern France, in the nice town of Martigues, which is also called 'the little Venice of Provence.' I have been scrapbooking for 10 years and particularly like inks and mediums. I don't have a scrap style (well, not that I know of). I really like to get inspired by a sketch; it's often the starting point of my work. Then comes a photo that I find inspiring and voila the rest follows on its own. I mainly do layouts, canvases and cards. I am so happy to be the guest designer this month at More Than Words and I want to thank all the MTW team for this wonderful opportunity!

You can visit Karine at the following links:
BLOG  -  FACEBOOK  -  INSTAGRAM

Here is a reminder of our November Main Challenge
followed by Karine's gorgeous creative interpretation.

Read below as Karine describes in her own words how she was inspired
by our word and how she chose to incorporate our creative challenge:

For me the word SUCCESS represents the work and the daily efforts to make a dream come true. I illustrated this challenge by focusing on the 'principal dancer' of the Ballet of the Opera National de Paris, Hugo Marchand. 'Principal dancer' is considered to be the supreme title in the hierarchy of dance, and to achieve such a rank takes a lot of dedication and hard work. For Hugo to hold this title is a freedom and a responsibility at the same time.

I represented the keys to success with words like 'mental', 'competition', 'ambition', 'generosity', etc. And of course, I also added a metal KEY embellishment to incorporate the creative challenge.

Let's take a look at some details:

What a splendid and stunning project!
We couldn't have picked a better subject matter to define the word SUCCESS.
And Karine sure demonstrated that she holds the KEY to creating a gorgeous layout!

A big THANK YOU to Karine for joining us as our November Special Guest!

We hope that you will take inspiration from Karine's creation
and that you will play along with our November Main Challenge.

You have until November 30 to link up!

Special SPONSOR GDT Event - Day 2

We are back today with more tribute to our fabulous 2019 sponsors!

Each and every one of our sponsors have played a pivotal role in
the More Than Words blog world and it is because of them
that we are able to inspire you to participate to our monthly challenges.

As stated yesterday, they are one of the main KEYS to our SUCCESS!

So, now let us continue to showcase each sponsor along
with a gorgeous creation from a member of their DT using their products.

Here's a quick reminder of the November challenge
SUCCESS & KEY
followed by our sponsors' interpretation of it to inspire you!

ELENA MARTYNOVA
Elena: I created this layout with the word SUCCESS in mind. A couple of years ago, I quite successfully conducted live workshops in the Studio of the Creative People store in my city. We worked both in small companies and in large groups. I remember one day when the girls came to me to make layouts. It was incredibly nice to be recognized as a master who can teach others. It felt like a real success to me. Scrapbooking was the KEY to the door behind which opened a delightful world of creativity! So I added a metal key next to our picture.

2Crafty products used:
Angie's Vines - Clock Face Frames - Line Words - Happiness Borders

And although she is young, we will all try to lay a path for her upon which she will be able to thrive. She doesn't know it yet, but she will be a success! Incorporating a beautiful metal KEY ties into the quote that includes 'the key to success'.

LENET MOS
Lenet: The word SUCCESS inspired me to use a picture of an artist carrying her brushes. The word 'create' in the lightbulb, the KEY and then the word 'success' are displayed together to make up the quote in the challenge board 'Creativity is the key to success'. I added some of my own brushes and pencil to embellish the layout as these are tools which I always use when crafting, so in a way they help me accomplish my work successfully.

Maja Design products used are:
'Vintage Baby' and 'Vintage Summer Basics' Patterned Papers

The creative concept of the MINTAY brand and its products are the projects of Karola Witczak - a well known designer, craft teacher and craft industry consultant, both in Poland and all over the world. ANNA KOMENDA
Anna: For me, being successful in life means having a loving home and a happy family. I devoted my life to raising my kids and they are my biggest SUCCESS. That's why I decided to use their picture on the heart shaped canvas to create my project. I also incorporated two metal KEYS and the word 'key' on my project to represent the creative challenge.

SCHWETHA MAHADEVAN
Schwetha: Art is a medium that serves as a mirror to my innermost feelings. It is highly personal and yet it can be highly relatable to others as well. This quality in an artwork can be achieved only through dedication, meticulous hard work and patience. Every time someone tells me that they are able to connect with my work at an emotional level and appreciates me, I feel that I have attained SUCCESS. Therefore, I deem art to be the key to success. And speaking of KEYS, I have added quite a few to my project, all unique and intricate.

Special SPONSOR GDT Event - Day 1

For the next 2 days we would like to pay homage to our fabulous 2019 sponsors!

Without awesome reliable and generous sponsors since our very start, More Than Words would not have known the success that we have had since our debut in 2016.

With our November main challenge in mind, we can all agree that
sponsors constitute one of the main KEYS to our blog's SUCCESS!
Each of these sponsors are successful in their own rights,
and thanks to them, we can offer you awesome participation prizes.

We therefore want to give back a little and showcase each of our 2019 sponsors
by putting the spotlight on them today and tomorrow while at the same time
bringing you creative inspiration from a member of their DT using their products.

So, without further ado, let's take a quick look at the November challenge
SUCCESS & KEY
followed by our sponsors' interpretation of it to inspire you!

THE DUSTY ATTIC is an Australian owned and operated laser cutting business, which designs and manufactures craft items and embellishments. They are continually designing so they can bring you new and fresh chipboard designs.

JEN BURNS
Jen: My inspiration was this photo of one of my sons. He has after four years finished his apprenticeship and is now a qualified plumber. Lots of hard work has paid off and I wish him every SUCCESS for his bright future. For the creative challenge I have added some of the Dusty Attic chipboard KEYS that resemble the keys to his 'work vehicle'!

The Dusty Attic products used:
House Keys - Clockworks - Perforated Mesh - Crazy Stitching Small
Large Arrows - Distressed Grid Stencil

FABRIKA DECORU is a Ukrainian manufacture which produces goods for various handmade crafts and scrapbooking. In their online store, you can find acrylic paints, sprays, texture paste stencils, stamps and so much more.

YULIA MOZHOVA
Yulia: SUCCESS for me is a complication notion; it's more a process than a result. It's something that involves physical and mental strength, unique skills, creativity, courage, enjoyable activities, as well as smart and sometimes spontaneous decisions. Success is something that parents can admire every single day just watching their children. That's why I have created a layout about an energetic and successful kid. I have added a KEY to my page as per the creative challenge requirement.

Fabrika Decoru products used:
'Specially For Him' Patterned Paper, Die Cuts & Flair Buttons
Steampunk chipboard - MDF Decorative Elements - Shabby Velour Paint - Black Gesso
Wiring Diagram Stencil - Texture Paste with Sand - Dry (magic) Paint - Glue

AB STUDIO is a Polish brand producing high quality stamps, non-standard stencils and unique papers, sure to satisfy everyone's taste.

AGA BARANIAK
Aga: With my art journal page, I wanted to express that there are numerous factors influencing SUCCESS. People try to reach something at all costs, but sometimes it takes more... maybe perseverance, maybe luck, maybe just hard work... to help your dreams come true. Everyone has to find his own key to be successful. I have added a metal KEY on my design.

AB STUDIO products used:
Rubber Stamps ID-239, 271, 204, 70, 322

KORA PROJECTS is a Spanish manufacturer of laser cut chipboard and scrapbooking papers. They  create complete collections by adding clear stamps and stickers and they also offer a wide variety of chipboards of any kind.
WEBSITE  -  FACEBOOK  -  INSTAGRAM  -  YOUTUBE  -  PINTEREST

ALAZNE VALES
Alazne: For this challenge, I wanted to make a door lock which leads to SUCCESS with me looking through the keyhole. I have also included the KEY to this door to success. The key, the lock frame and the word 'success' are made of rose gold methacrylate, and the technique I used in the lock is embossed in pink eco-leather. This project has helped me improve myself with technique and be successful in my own creativity.

KORA Projects products used:
ECO Leather 'Rosa Crepe' - 'Princess Garden' Paper Pack - Background Bricks Chipboard

LINDY'S creates a rainbow of products from sprays, embossing powders to unique dye based pigment powders. For 20 years, Lindy's has been the trusted manufacturer of artistic quality mixed media, arts and crafts products.

INSTAGRAM  -  TWITTER  -  YOUTUBE

OLGA BIELSKA
Olga: To achieve SUCCESS, first of all, you have to believe in your abilities, believe in yourself. And this is the motive that inspired my layout. To incorporate the creative challenge, I added a small metal KEY below my photo, amidst the flower cluster.

Lindy's products used:
Shimmer Spray 'Bachelor Button Blue', 'Sweet Violet Purple Teal', 'Witch's Potion Purple', 'Cowabunga Copper' - Embossing Powder 'Silver Moon Mistletoe', 'Midnight Ruby'

7 DOTS STUDIO is a European manufacture specializing in scrapbooking collections, owned by Tusia Lech whose passion for paper crafts knows no bounds.
WEBSITE  -  BLOG  -  FACEBOOK  -  PINTEREST   TWITTER

TUSIA LECH
Tusia: When I found out that the topic of this challenge, I thought initially that it would be difficult for me to create about this, because in these days SUCCESS is usually defined in a strictly financial way or by being famous or renowned. Both are not my way of thinking about success. I have been there, and it's not for me. For me, success is being able to be myself, to be free from most limitations and to be able to work at my own pace. It is also the ability to stay with my kids when I need it, walk outside when I need it, sit and drink coffee when I want to. These are all my definitions of success.
You will see a small KEY on my patterned paper to represent the creative challenge.

7 Dots Studio products used:
'Garden Party' Patterned Papers, Elements Stickers, Die-Cut Elements & Tags
