Special Guest Spotlight on
LOUISE NELSON

Are you ready to be inspired by yet another fabulous
Guest Designer here at More Than Words?

This month, we are happy to introduce to you an incredibly talented lady
with a unique and beautiful minimalist style that certainly stands out!

If you are familiar with Louise Nelson's work, you will know that she is truly one of a kind!  She is bold, brave and beautiful, and each creation of hers captures your attention to the point where you think to yourself 'How so very brilliant!' every single time. It makes us so happy to have her join us as our August Special Guest!

Let's see what Louise had to say about herself:

"Hello! I'm Louise! I live and work in Adelaide, Australia and I have been a passionate scrapbooker for 10 years now. I have a simplistic signature style that incorporates my favourite products and techniques including small black and white photos, mixed media and minimal embellishments. I currently design for Imaginarium Designs, 7 Dots Studio, Relics & Artifacts and Kraft Plus Challenges. I admit, I am a shockingly bad blogger, but you can find 'my stuff' by clicking on the following links."

Here's a reminder of our August FRIENDS & CIRCLES challenge
followed by Louise's fabulous interpretation:

Louise shared this about her amazing layout
and how she was inspired by our challenge:

"Firstly, let me say a huge THANK YOU to the More Than Words team for this fabulous creative honour! I have so loved creating to this challenge criteria and I so can't wait to see what you all will create based on it!!!

I was quite literal in my interpretation of the criteria, using CIRCLES to create a background pattern to showcase my photo, a chipboard circle frame to frame my photo and some black wire thread shaped to surround the frame in a circular pattern.

And lastly, I decided to use this inspiration word as my title, simple but yet very fitting, since the theme and focal point of my page is a photo of
one of my most beautiful FRIENDS."

Here are some close-ups of Louise's unique style and attention to details:

Now, we know that you have never seen anything like this!
As mentioned above, Louise is truly one of a kind!!

Thank you so much Louise for being our Special Guest this month!

We cannot wait to see your interpretation of

August 2016 MAIN Challenge
FRIENDS & CIRCLES

Happy August everyone!

Another month over and that means that we are busy going through all your previous month's entries, scratching our heads on how to choose our winners among so many gorgeous creations, and we are just about to be wowed
once again by your projects based on a brand new challenge!
Our MAIN challenge is based on a word inspiration and a creative challenge.
This challenge is open to layouts, canvases and art journal pages only.

Word Inspiration - FRIENDS
Creative Challenge - CIRCLES

Use the word FRIENDS as inspiration for your project.
You can choose to add the word itself somewhere on your project
or simply be inspired to create from it.
Please explain in your blog post how the word inspired you, if it not already obvious.

We thought that the word "friends" would go perfectly with a CIRCLES creative challenge! "Circle of friends", "Friendship circle", get it? So we want to see circles on your project, as many as you want, however you want. Round and round, until we get dizzy with creativity!

VERY IMPORTANT!  You have to incorporate both requirements of the challenge, the word inspiration AND the creative challenge, on your project to be eligible to win. Just look at our DT members' creations as example. Also, remember that you must include our board image
and a link to our blog in your entry post.
Please check out our rules in the RULES tab above!

Valia: "The very first thought that comes to mind with the word FRIENDS are my sons who are not only brothers, but also best friends. They fulfill each other and even though they fight pretty much all the time, they can't be apart. For the creative part of the challenge, I added CIRCLES by using a circular stencil, flowers,
a flair button and a round knob."

Nupur: "'Love Note' is what I call this layout! Treasured in the pages are the memories created, emotion engraved and words left unspoken.  FRIENDship is a secret bond, a 'circle' of survival, forever and ever stored in the heart. I used many symbolic elements shaped in CIRCLES, 'forever' and 'together', two most important words that define a relationship."

Lilibleu: "The subject of this new challenge FRIENDS immediately made me think about the very close and friendly relationship of my two boys. They get along very well and are just like the best of friends which of course doesn't prevent them from having arguments with each other regularly!! For the CIRCLES technical challenge, in addition to modeling paste circles and to the stamps on my background,
I used a couple round chipboard pieces that I love which
I painted blue in order to highlight them."

Joyce: "Reuniting with FRIENDS some time ago reminded me of how happy and unencumbered we were in our 20's. We traveled together, supported each other and could depend on one another. My CIRCLE elements are in the shape of the photos
and a design element on my art journal page."

Di: "I was inspired to scrap my best FRIEND who is of course my husband.  I have embraced the whole CIRCLE theme, from cutting my photo into a circle, to circle chippies, to circle doilies, to circle stamping and even circle stenciling which unfortunately you cannot see."

Arantzazu: "These pictures are from the last festivities of my village. My FRIENDS and I always join together during these festivities. They are special to us! My CIRCLE elements are on my background. I created circles with vivid ultra metallics
and using a bubbles stamp."

Caroline: "My picture is self-explanatory of the word FRIENDS.  This photo was taken on our last scrapbook retreat. Those beautiful ladies are 2 of my scrapbook buddies.  We try to meet a couple times a year to simply scrapbook together. I love CIRCLES! I especially love this technique of using circles on a layout. I use it sometimes
when I want to do something different."

Elena: "Last year, we took this lovely photo of my son and my godson during our vacation on the sea. This photo was a perfect fit to the FRIENDS theme - the boys are such good friends. I love to use CIRCLES on my projects. Here, I've used a round frame for the picture, using a circle as the center of my composition."

Rachael: "I thought this photo was perfect for the word inspiration FRIENDS. These 2 boys are not just cousins; they are also really good friends. For the creative challenge, I have decided to add lots of CIRCLES in my background."

Helen: "My best FRIEND in life, my constant ally and protector, is my sister Katerina. Since day one, she was there for me, partner and witness of my childhood. I drew a lot of CIRCLES for this layout and tried to make them
interesting with different textures and stamps."

Kristina: "This month, I created a canvas.  It is dedicated to my best FRIEND, faithful and reliable. I know that she will support me in any situation and I will support her too.   For the creative challenge, I added several CIRCLE chipboard pieces throughout all my flowers."

Pamela: "These three amigos are inseparable when together. I believe they will carry this close relationship on for the rest of their lives. They truly are great FRIENDS. I integrated CIRCLES on my background with a stencil
and used a circle chipboard to back my photo."

Valerie: "The photo is of the first person who I speak to when I have a problem. She is a very close FRIEND.  To incorporate the CIRCLES creative challenge, I tried to make bubbles with watercolours throughout my background.  You can view a video tutorial about my creative process HERE."

Nicole: "The word FRIENDS brought a lot of special people to mind, but first and foremost is my friend Christine. We have met each other online more than 15 years ago through a mutual love of the singer Tori Amos and we have been the best of real life friends ever since. I wanted to invoke the 'circle of friends' theme in my design by adding lots of CIRCLES cut out of my patterned paper. I also added round brads and jewels as well as microbeads... circles of all kinds and sizes!"
Ekaterina: "'FRIENDship', it is a wonderful feeling! It does not matter whether it is a real friendship between two people or the friendship between man and animal. I used CIRCLES to create the background. I put paste through a stencil and covered it with embossing powder."

Wilma: "I hear a lot of people say: 'My daughter is also my friend.'  I can't see my daughters as FRIENDS, no matter how much fun we have. They are so much more than that! I would give my life for them, which I wouldn't do for a friend (sorry, friends! :P).  For the creative challenge, I used a few chipboard pieces
with a cluster of CIRCLES pattern."

Are you inspired yet!?
We are sure that you will create some beautiful projects
based on this fun challenge!
