June 2021 Main Challenge - HERO and PAINT

Hello again and welcome to our June Main Challenge!

This month, we are challenging you to use our inspiration word Hero and add some Paint to your project.  We also have a special offer from one of this month's sponsors, so keep reading to find out what that is!

As always, our Main Challenge is based on a word inspiration and a creative challenge.  The word inspiration can appear on your project or not but you must show that you have been inspired by it.  The creative challenge must be used on your project!

Word Inspiration - HERO
Creative Challenge - PAINT

Helpful Tips For The Challenge

Not all heroes wear capes! Who is your HERO? Is it your father, a child or a friend? Maybe it's a sportsperson or an artist. Or maybe your hero really does appear in a comic book or on a screen. Whoever it is, we want to hear about it! For this creative challenge you need to add PAINT to your project, Any paint is fine!

Design Team Inspiration

And now let's look at our first DT Inspiration for this month:

MARIE JOHANSSON

Marie: "I`m one of them - the pandemic superheroes. And I am SO sick of it. During this 1½ year the Arts & crafts has been my saviour. Playing with colours, paper, stamps and knitting with beautiful soft yarns has made me live & breathe again. Do I need to tell you what inspired me? ME, my colleagues and every one working their socks off at every hospital around the world. WE NEED A BREAK! And more PAINT in our lives!

SARAH DORGERE

Sarah:  My little super HERO. my son is a fan of Spiderman, that's why for this year he dressed up as a superhero for the carnival. I represented the painting with a stamp board that contained rollers. I wanted to give a paint effect applied to my background with black gesso.

VIDHI JADEJA

Vidhi:  I have created a scrapbook layout with our ( me and my brother ) childhood super hero , BATMAN ! We were always fond of playing with him and watched movies , cartoons and read comics of him...  He was definitely our childhood super hero ?? used bright paper and paints to match a moodboard for this challenge.  Hope you like it

Heather:  For this challenge I wanted to make a layout dedicated to my dad who is 93. He's always been my HERO. I found a gorgeous photo of us when I was very young. I think every little girl needs a hero for a dad.
For my PAINT part of the challenge, I stencilled paints onto my very old sheet music from ArtStacks and created my background with paints on a geli-plate.

Elle:  She needed a hero so that's what she became.  Some times you need to be your own hero!
I painted this black and white woman on the left and then painted the rest of the art journal page with this violet paint, then added gold and white paint splatters to the background and finished it off with a handwritten quote. So it's all paint all the time lol.

JINAL SAVLA

Jinal:  He is no Superhero, but He had zero fear.. with all his humble he faced hardship with a smiling heart...the depth in his eyes shows what he went through...he PAINTED his life with joy.. without having any despair he now intends to share his wisdom to the coming generations.. He is no less than a Hero for them.. an ideal, their support..

This post is dedicated to my grandfather-in-law who passed away last month leaving behind his memories, wisdom, humbleness and kindness... he was my husbands Hero.. and forever be missed by all of us...

Kat: For this challenge I decided to make a quote with words HERO. I found this "A true hero isn't measured by the size of his strength, but by the strength of his heart." I agree with this.
For my PAINT, I used paints on my background.

LISA OXLEY

Lisa:  Finding this image of Mohammad Ali in his Cassius Clay days assisted this page into being.
So many things to admire about this incredibly intelligent, activist, entertainer and philanthropist.
I admire his persistence of spirit, physical abilities and commitment to humanitarian causes.
Acrylics add drama and boldness, while assisting in bringing focus to the subject.

"Perseverance is the act of true role models and heroes"

Olya: Hello everybody! The word HERO inspired me to create a page about my hero - my husband. I love him very much and he helps me in everything, especially when it's hard for me or I'm sick! I added a lot of colors to my vintage background. Bright glass accents and a lot of embellishments. Link to video tutorial: https://youtu.be/n1sCIlCj_Ec

Aude:  Here is my tag, I used the word "IDEAL" to illustrate this good moment of contemplation towards nature.

AGA MIRKOWSKA (CARD)

Aga:  The IDEAL (wedding) day card made using 'Homemade' and Flora Book Paper Collections by Mintay Papers - our great Sponsor

Asia:  Using the word "IDEAL" was a real challenge for me, because it means something different to each of us. While creating, I thought about the "ideal day for": adventure, conquest of seas and oceans, being a pirate, or death.

DANA TATAR (ATC)

Dana:  The Sun Moon Stars Digital Collage Set from Gecko Galz fit my quote about ideals perfectly. I embellished the printed image with glitter paint and glue and then added copper chipboard stars to add a cosmic shimmer to the galaxy background of this artist trading card.

Heike:  We all need IDEAL´s to guide our footsteps" I created a postcard with 13@rts Color Glow and a stamp from the travel the word collection.

ELLE WILSON (ATC)

Elle: For this month's mini challenge I was inspired by the word IDEAL to think about what I would like as my IDEAL day, and here is the answer "I just want to drink tea, pet cats and read books!"  So I drew a little cat holding a cup of tea, taking a break from reading his favourite book.  The background is a page from a calendar I was given for this year, which is all about cats and books.  Someone knows me too well lol.

SHARON FRITCHMAN (TAG)

Sharon: I made my tag using ink sprays and a favorite quote about letting your IDEALS guide your footsteps. The beautiful butterflies that you see on my tag are from the CoreStack "Anemones & Friends" from ArtStacks!!!

PRIYA MISHRA (TAG)

Priya:  My tag for the month with a very realistic quote " Find your IDEAL in something not IDEAL"

EMMA ZAPPONE (TAG)

Emma:  'The Ideal of calm exists in a sitting cat'.  And sometimes to be a Cat would be IDEAL.  Featuring 2Crafty Chipboard.

HEATHER MCMAHON  (CARD)

 Hello everyone!

Welcome to our March Mini Challenge where we are asking you to use the word SEIZE in your mini projects. Do you SEIZE the day, the moment or maybe the opportunity? Show us on your Mini project!

This year our mini challenge has relocated from Facebook to our blog so now you can enter the Mini Challenge by using the inlinkz below.  Now both of our monthly challenges are held on our blog!

OLYA RAGOZINA (CARDS)

Olya:  Hello, my darlings! My little girl is 6 years old. Together with her, we have created a collection of spring cards "Seize the moment"! With the captions: "Enjoy the moment", "Forever yours for always and evermore" and "Happy moment", because a birthday happens once a year and you need to enjoy this moment to the fullest! When you will be 6 more years old and you will have a carefree time.  Video tutorial in my youtube channel.

PRIYA MISHRA (TAG)

Priya:  My tag for SEIZE, March mini this month. I used old book pages in the background and some gear moulds. My quote is SEIZE the day...

ELLE WILSON (ATC)

Elle:  I used this quote from a song by Eminem called Sing for the Moment because it is one of my favourites and one of his best and this line is what I immediately thought of when I saw the word SEIZE.  Since the last word in the quote is golden I wanted the background to also be that colour, so I ended up using rainbow colours from this watercolour sample card to make a rainbow but not in strict rainbow colour order.

HEATHER MCMAHON  (POSTCARD)

Heather:  My quote is Seize the opportunity and I used papers from ArtStacks.

Jinal:  Seize the opportunity! I wanted to try something steampunky for a while now.. and this was the exact opportunity I got and I literally seized this opportunity and made this steampunk tag

KAT PALECZNY (CARD)

Kat:  My card, SEIZE the day for the mini challenge in March, I used flowers with ABStudio papers and stencil in the background.

LISA OXLEY (CARD)

Lisa:  I've adored this quote since reading it and also having a fascination with the moon and stars, I found it perfect for this challenge.

SARAH DORGERE (TAG)

Sarah:  In life some doors open and others open. you have to know how to SEIZE these opportunities when they arise and especially at the right time. This is what I wanted to represent with this tag.  I used The Versailles Collection from ABstudio.

VIDHI JADEJA (TAG)

Vidhi:  ‘Seize the moments’ after all we all are defined by the moments we cherished in our life.  That is more important than anything else!
