Hello everyone, and welcome to our August challenge! This month, our challenge is again a little different - we are giving you a choice of a COLLAGE page or a COLLEGE page. As someone famous once said: A person could make a collage at college, but you can't make a college at collage! Collage V College
Let's take a look at this month's art journal challenge! We have simplified the challenges this year and the challenge no longer has two parts. Instead we have one main theme to inspire you and this month it's all about Collage or College. What does this mean? It means you can choose to make a page using collage techniques or you can make a page inspired by college (your college days, going back to school, etc) or you could combine them and make a collage page about college! Feel free to interpret the theme in any way that speaks to you!

For this month's challenge I chose to go with collage as it is something I really enjoy doing. This one is called Regrets and was inspired by the idea of a disastrous laundry day where this guy left his red socks in the machine with all his white shirts - no wonder he's crying - everything came out pink! My collage background consists of lots of different washing machine images from a catalogue and a magenta glaze on top. It was a fun one to create with all that splattery paint. Hope you can join in this month!

I went crazy with the COLLAGE theme here, layering all sorts of offcuts, textural items and images into a vintage book. The quote and the tissue flowers are from ArtStacks. My focal piece on the right is a stunning image created entirely by collaging strips of gelatin-printed papers. It's by the artist Amber Bennison and is also from ArtStacks.

Hello! Here is my collage. I mixed elements cut from a magazine. I added various stamps as well.

I made my art journal page about both COLLAGE and COLLEGE! I used Nadine Karen Design beautiful images to make my collage and gave the highland cow a graduation cap to fit the college theme. I also used a quote from ArtStacks' "Fabulous Faces" pack to complete my page.
