Creative Embellishments is a small family owned American manufacturer of laser cut products such as chipboard, wood veneer, stencils, rubber stamps and acrylic. FUTURE & STARS

DANA TATAR

Dana: I think about the FUTURE every day. I'm especially excited to see what the future holds for my daughters who are a bright light in my life. I incorporated STARS unto my design in several ways: with a stencil, with a stamp, with chipboard and other star-shaped embellishments. I used letter stickers to include the word 'future' in my journaling which reads: 'No matter what the future holds, 

I know you both are going to shine!'

On her fabulous star-spangled layout, Dana used the Star Bokeh stencil, Grunge Stars stamp as well as the Nested Stars chipboard 

and Star Light Star Bright chipboard words.

DEBBIE SHERMAN

Debbie: I'm about to make one of the life changing choices in my life and for me it's been overwhelming... retirement. For this challenge, I chose to think of something in my near FUTURE and that would be the change of seasons, from a colourful Fall to a snow-covered Winter. I live in a part of America where I have four seasons and I love them all for different reasons. Winter is a time of rest after playing and working hard throughout beautiful Summer and Fall, just like what the future holds for me.  I incorporated the creative challenge by stenciling in 

a few shiny STARS on my background. 

Debbie's page is beautiful, in part thanks to the beautiful Flourish 13 

and Flourish 15 chipboard pieces from Creative Embellishments.

MARILYN RIVERA

Marilyn: This challenge inspired me to create a canvas because I think of the FUTURE with hope and happiness. I was also inspired by this quote by Jim Rohn: 'Happiness is not something you postpone for the future; it is something you design for the present.' For that reason, I added a lot of chipboard STARS to represent an illuminated future full of opportunities, and of course, the creative challenge. 

Marilyn created her exquisite canvas by using the Fairy Dust 2 stencil

and awesome chipboard designs Social Hash Tags and Star Pieces.

NANNE HARRY

Nanne: As a new grandmother, I love looking towards the FUTURE and seeing how my granddaughter develops: from the first smile to clapping of the hands, those first words and from crawling to walking. Only the future knows what's next. For the creative challenge I added lots of little STARS to my background 

using a stencil and texture paste.

Nanne's stunningly sweet page is full of Creative Embellishments goodness, from the Twinkle Star stencil to the Distressed Script and Distressed Crackle stamps, as well as the following chipboards: Vintage Flourish Set 1, Large Clock Face 3, 

Mini Circle Panel, Fairy Wing Set 1 and Milestones Word Set.

 SANDI CLARKSON

Sandi: One of the most immediate events in my FUTURE are the upcoming holidays. As a grandmother, I especially enjoy seeing things through my grandchildren's eyes. I always wonder which traditions will be passed down through the generations... and what new ones may come along. The inspiration word prompted me to scrap this photo of my sweet little grandson who hopefully will someday be a Santa to his own little family.  My STAR shapes are evident in both the stenciled background, multiple chipboard star shapes and the flair.

We all love Christmas-themed projects and Sandi's is no exception. On her fabulously festive page, she used the following chipboard pieces: Falling Stars Border, Spiral Tree and the Christmas Sentiments word set as well as the Falling Stars stencil; the Distressed Crackle and Grunge Music Note Border stamps and some beautiful flair from the Shine Flair Gold collection.

LEISURE & SPLATS

ESZTER GENCSI

Eszter: This challenge inspired me to create a layout about wanderings and excursions which is how I love to spend my LEISURE time. After a busy Summer, the Autumn excursions are so relaxing. The beautiful colours of nature also reflect nature's relaxation. I got creative by adding lots of white SPLATS on my page.

On her stunning Fall-themed layout, Eszter has used papers and embellishments from the Botany Autumn collection as well as beautiful designs 
from Fabrika Decoru's ever growing collection of laser-cut chipboard.

MARIA LILLEPRUUN

Maria: I decided to make a cheerful funny layout with a cat marionette on it. This layout came as a total surprise for me because this is not what I usually create, but the LEISURE theme and a crazy banner just put my brain to work in a totally unexpected direction. I will hang the layout in my working cabinet low enough for my daughter to entertain herself (the cat's paws and tail can be easily moved around) while I am busy with my paper hobby, so that it is leisure time for her too. The colour SPLATS are very entertaining themselves in fun bright shades that my daughter also loves. 

Maria created her fun and interactive layout using lots of different 
Fabrika Decoru products like die cuts and frames as well as overlays. 
She created her colourful splasts with liquid enamel dots, liquid glass drops 
and liquid drops with glitter. They come in all colours!

ALENA ANDREYANOVA

Alena: My favorite LEISURE activity is spending time with my friends just walking and chatting. I made this canvas as a present for my friends. I used this photo of when we were at a tulip exhibition. I added lots of different SPLATS to emphasize the bright sunny day and red flowers.

We are amazed at Alena's use of various mixed media Fabrika Decoru products

to create this superb canvas full of depth and texture. Among other products, 

she used deco glaze, metallic paints as well as dots and drops.

KAROLINA CZOLBA

Karolina: I love Summer which is absolutely my favorite moment for LEISURE activities. I love sunbathing, sightseeing and relaxing with a cold drink. I added some small green SPLATS using shimmer paint for the creative challenge.

Karolina's beautiful page helps showcase several fabulous LEISURE-themed collections in Fabrika Decoru's catalog as well as the chipboard to go along

IRINA BOHOMALOVA

Irina: The best LEISURE time that I spend is enjoying my favorite hobby which is art (not counting reading books!) I totally rest when I create mixed media canvases like this one. I always use a lot of colours and splashes. I really like to mix shades and add interesting tricks to my work. The SPLATS on my canvas were made with sprays, dry paints, "magic paint" and gesso. 

Irina has done a fabulous job using Fabrika Decoru art mediums 

(from magic paint to all kinds of sprays and glitter) to create a fantastic 

mixed media canvas. She also decorated it with some of their fabulous chipboard.

KAROLA WITCZAK

Karola: Inspired by the word SUNSHINE and the colour YELLOW, I recalled beautiful memories of sunny Spain and decided to create a layout with a photo of me 

and full of sunshine, in a marine theme.

Yes! You guessed it! Karola is the owner and designer of Mintay Papers, and we love that she has chosen to join us in this GDT reveal with a very beautiful page inspired by the seaside and, of course, sunshine. 

The Marina collection is full of Summer delights.

ANNA KOMENDA

 Anna: SUNSHINE & YELLOW is a perfect match! I love scrapbooking Summer photos so I didn't have any problems with finding inspiration. I took the guidelines very literally by using a very limited colour palette - mostly YELLOW - 
and the word SUNSHINE in my title.

We are totally in love with Anna's layout. It couldn't be more perfect for our challenge! She has used the very sunny Farm Life collection from Mintay.

CATHY CAFUN

 Cathy: Inspired by this month's word, I chose to document daily moments in the SUNSHINE between two people in love. YELLOW is a wonderful colour and perfect to highlight these beautiful moments and feelings.

As Anna above, Cathy has opted to use the Farm Life collection to create this absolutely stunning page with loads of yellow goodness.

YESTERDAY & VINTAGE

BEC GENET

 Bec: The word YESTERDAY made me think of old photos. The reason why I started scrapbooking was to preserve these photos, so I chose a favorite old photo of my daughter from 9 years ago. I followed the VINTAGE inspiration on my layout with my colour choices of warm classic tones, plus the use of antique lace and pearls.

Bec was able to capture the essence of our August challenge on her so very lovely layout with the use of these 2Crafty chipboard pieces: Frame Celia's Flourish, Flower Doilies, Corner Thick Vine, Lacey Border Set 1 and Friendship Mini Word Pack.

HETTY HALL

Hetty: I really enjoyed this challenge and combined the creative twist with the YESTERDAY word inspiration by using a vintage photo. To me, VINTAGE is all about old photos, muted colours, torn papers, distressing and lace.

This gorgeous page designed by Hetty is what we had in mind when we thought up our challenge this month. It doesn't get any more vintage than this. And we love Hetty's choices of 2Crafty chipboard as well, which are: Circular Leafy Frame, Summer Leaf Stems and This Girl.

HINA MIRZA

 Hina: The word YESTERDAY inspired me to create this layout with an old picture of a lady in sepia tone. For the creative challenge, I combined the photo with several 2Crafty pieces that I found looked very antique and embossed them in coordinating colours to bring everything together in a VINTAGE feel.

We agree! Hina's choice of 2Crafty chipboard along with the photo could not have captured more beautifully the theme of our challenge. The chipboard she used are: Nella's Frame, Flourish Adornment Set 1 and Mini Word Set 2.

LISA AMIET

 Lisa: I was inspired by the YESTERDAY theme to create this layout using an older photo of my daughter. I loved the warm VINTAGE tones and feel to this paper collection and felt that my 2Crafty chipboard matched perfectly.

Lisa's choice of papers do bring a very soft classic look to her page and we love that our word inspired her to showcase this sweet memory of her pretty daughter. Such a gorgeous page! She used the Flower Doilies, Tangled Lamp Posts and Mini Swirls 1 from the 2Crafty collection.

SABRINA TURPIN

Sabrina: I was inspired by both the VINTAGE creative challenge and the YESTERDAY word inspiration. I wanted to create a vintage ambience around my black and white picture by using a wood textured background along with a dull colour palette. I decided to apply a patina finish on some of the chipboards to accentuate the antique effect. I also used an aged-looking embossing powder and stamped some script writings with faded black ink.

We absolutely love Sabrina's layout with its faded vintage look and perfect purple accents. She was able to bring us back into the past with the help of these beautiful chipboard pieces from 2Crafty: Frame Yvette's, Circle Lace Panel, Fine Word Set 1, Foliage Set 1 and Pretty Flowers.
