January 2019 Main Challenge
GOALS & JOURNALING

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!

We wish you the very best of everything for 2019,
and that includes brand new More Than Words challenges to play
along to every month, fabulous DT inspiration as well as awesome prizes
from our ever so wonderful and loyal sponsors.

It gives us great pleasure and happiness to be able to ring in this new year
with all of you with the reveal of our January Main Challenge!
Our Main Challenge is based on a word inspiration and a creative challenge.

Word Inspiration - GOALS
Creative Challenge - JOURNALING

What does the word GOALS inspire you to create?
You can choose to use the actual word somewhere on your project or simply be inspired by it. Please explain in your blog post how it inspired you if it isn't obvious in your work.

Putting goals in writing is a great way to help commit to them! What are your goals and aspirations? Or do you score your goals on the sports field? Either way, we want you to tell us your story by adding some JOURNALING, whether typed or handwritten, on your project!

Please check out all our challenge rules in the RULES tab above.

Now let's see what our fabulous new 2019 DT has come up with
inspired by the GOALS & JOURNALING main challenge!

Jess: Every year I like to set GOALS that help me be a better person.
For my JOURNALING I have written a little list of all the things
I would like to work on in 2019.

France: January is always the perfect time to set up new GOALS for the year. As far as I'm concerned, my focus is my health and my JOURNALING describes the many steps moving towards improving my health. Playing with my craft supplies is how I relax and one of my best tools to relieve stress. How do you relax?

Daria: My GOALS this year are  mainly related to creativity. I really hope that in the new year my dream will come true and I will go to master classes for my beloved artist. My layout is about this. I hope that my hands will be as colourful! I added some handwritten JOURNALING here and there throughout my page.

Alicja: I used the word GOALS in a quote which also represents the basis of my project. I added some JOURNALING by doodling and handwriting. I found this black and white photo as a perfect interpretation of the theme.

Hina: I have created this layout featuring my daughter's picture and putting a few lines of printed JOURNALING for her, counting them as my motherhood GOALS.

Nuneka: Life is like a road, one we can build ourselves. That road can lead to our GOALS, small or big, if we decide to take it. JOURNALING helps me focus on my ideas and visualize better so that I don't lose sight of my goals.

Rosalie: My GOALS are my daily affirmations that I try to remember.
In our busy rushed working lives, it is good to take the time
to be kind to ourselves. I have used an old book that I had found in
an Op Shop to use as my JOURNALING creative space.

Mary: The word GOALS inspired me to create a layout with the things I want to do for myself in 2019. I want to find more free time for me and do do things I love more. I hope I can get there. For the creative challenge I added some sticker phrases as my JOURNALING.

Priya: GOALS are very important whether in life or sports.
I made this layout using the picture of my son and added
some JOURNALING about life goals and why they are important to us.

Nicole: The word GOALS inspired me to create my first art journal page. I always admired other people's art journals and thought this would be the perfect challenge to have a go at it myself. My goal is to regularly add to this journal throughout the year. I used some leftover stash and Dusty Attic chipboard titles to express my life goals which I also wrote about in my JOURNALING.

Torsa: I am a big fan of art journaling - that is where I started my journey in mixed media. But in the last couple years, I was so busy with my other commitments that I almost forgot the fun of creating for myself. This year my creative GOAL is to create more art journals. I have added JOURNALING quotes in my creation which I feel are very appropriate for me at the moment.

Edith: The beginning of a new year is a good time to set some GOALS that we want to achieve. For 2019 my goal is to take care of myself and be happy.
This is what I detailed in my JOURNALING.

Anat: An art journal to me is where we put our heart and soul
into words and not only into the design. JOURNALING can
be expressed by handwriting or the way I did it - with stickers. My GOALS
for 2019 are here in this spread which I coloured with white, gold and silver.

Caroline: My only GOAL for the next year is to be happy and enjoy life as it is. We often want more and forget to appreciate what we have already. For the upcoming year I want to live in the moment and be positive the most that I can.
I added my JOURNALING with cute sticker phrases.

Heather: I used the word GOALS literally by using it in an inspiring quote. My JOURNALING is at the bottom of the page, telling my kids to choose what goals are important and to plan and work hard for them.

Daisy: My GOAL for the year 2019 is to give myself more reading time. I love losing myself over the words of a good novel. Accompanied by a good tea, it makes this moment of relaxation more than perfect. Sometimes I will try to get my children to join me so that they can experience beautiful adventures through reading. My goal is very realistic so I sincerely believe that I will get there. My JOURNALING is present on my photo and I also used sticky sentences from Tim Holtz.

We really hope that one of your GOALS this month will be to
play along with us on this fabulous main challenge, our first of 2019.

  3. I'm very confused how to add my work to this challenge. I did'nt find a way to put my link and photo to that link. There's only a photo of the challenge itself.
