May 2019 Main Challenge
WEEKEND & MULTIPLE PHOTOS

The beautiful month of May is here
and we have a beautiful main challenge in store for you
that we think you will enjoy very much!

Our Main Challenge is based on a word inspiration and a creative challenge.

Word Inspiration - WEEKEND
Creative Challenge -MULTIPLE PHOTOS

What does the word WEEKEND inspire you to create?
You can choose to use the actual word somewhere on your project
or simply be inspired by it. Please explain in your blog post
how it inspired you if it isn't obvious in your work.

Do you take lots of photos of your weekend adventures? We want to see them! Use MULTIPLE PHOTOS, two, three or more, to share your weekend fun with us! If you don't want to use photos, you can use
multiple images of a similar kind instead.

Please check out all our challenge rules in the RULES tab above.

Now let's see what our fabulous DT has come up with
inspired by the WEEKEND & MULTIPLE PHOTOS main challenge!

Hina: The WEEKEND in our family belongs to our li'l champ most of the times. He is the one most excited every Friday, especially in the Summer. I picked his old PICTURES when he was learning to ride a scooter on some weekend in a park.

Rosalie: The WEEKEND is my most favorite time to rest, relax and take some time with family and being just me. I added MULTIPLE PHOTOS of things I like to do, such as a good coffee at a cafe, walking my dogs at the beach and reading in a quiet corner of the house.

Daria: We will soon begin the Summer season, and the type of WEEKENDS I love the most during the Summer are filled with fun trips to the country. I chose last year's PHOTOS of my son during one of those trips for my layout.

Alicja: I've created a layout using TWO PHOTOS showing me and my best friend having fun. It was an absolutely fantastic WEEKEND that we have spent together.

Nuneka: WEEKENDS are perfect for adventures, and when you cannot go on adventures, then weekends are the perfect time to plan these adventures with your best friend. On my layout, I added MULTIPLES PHOTOS of all the places that we would like to go together.

Jess: What a fun challenge! I love using MULTIPLE PHOTOS. I decided to scrap a page about the WEEKEND we took our Lab pup Betty to the beach for the first time. She had so much fun!

Edith: The WEEKEND is a good time to relax for me after a long week of work. Reading and TV shows are my favorite pleasures... my guilty pleasure because I can spend hours reading without seeing the time pass. For the creative challenge,
I used the SAME PHOTO TWICE to overlay.

Nicole: I am usually very content to spend my WEEKENDS at home with my boyfriend doing absolutely nothing and being completely antisocial. However, I always enjoy spending some time visiting with our nieces. These photos were taken during a trip to the zoo where we had such a great time. MULTIPLE PHOTOS for multiple fun!

Anat: I miss so much my WEEKENDS in Rio! There were so many exciting things to do, as a family with kids or as a single person. I've chosen a COUPLE PHOTOS that feature two of the things I liked the best: the beach and dancing.

Di: I always like using MULTIPLE PHOTOS and heaven knows we all have so many photos on our phones! The creative side of the challenge made me think about our much fun we actually have on the WEEKENDS with our kids, or in my case, my grand-babies. These pictures are a great example of that... kids being crazy in front of the camera.

Caroline: When I think about WEEKENDS, I think about relaxing moments and good treats! My favorite place to go is a little cafe near our home; we enjoy the cozy environment and the excellent coffee. I used the SAME PICTURE TWICE, one in colour, one in black and white, for our creative twist.

Daisy: These days, on the WEEKENDS, I like to go walking in the mountains with the dogs. It allows us to exercise and breathe fresh air. I used the SAME PHOTO TWICE that I placed each in their corner.

France: One place I have dreamed of visiting for many years is Banff, Alberta. I was lucky to have a work WEEKEND in the area last October. So my PICTURES of this trip were certainly the inspiration for this challenge. Magnificent views and water dreamy blue, it is a true paradise even in the cold weather. If not already on your bucket list of travel destinations, consider adding this beautiful city!

Priya: Normally I'm very lazy on the WEEKENDS and prefer to sleep until late and try to do nothing at all. But last weekend I decided to join this yoga workshop and dedicate some time to myself, to release stress and find some peace within. I thoroughly enjoyed the session and spent some time by the lakeside. These PHOTOS represent to me a truly memorable weekend.

Mary: I can't wait for the Summer WEEKENDS to come! We always spend them on the sea relaxing and enjoying the sun. For the creative challenge, I used MULTIPLE PHOTOS that represent the places we've been.

What are you going to do this WEEKEND!? Make sure to document it
by taking lots of PHOTOS and join us on this fun challenge!

April 2019 Main Challenge
BABY & PASTELS

Oh, we love the month of April here at More Than Words
and we know that you will love the challenge we have in store for you!

Our Main Challenge is based on a word inspiration and a creative challenge.

Word Inspiration - BABY
Creative Challenge - PASTELS

What does the word BABY inspire you to create?
You can choose to use the actual word somewhere on your project
or simply be inspired by it. Please explain in your blog post
how it inspired you if it isn't obvious in your work.

This month's word brings soft and sweet images to mind.
What better way to complement this than with PASTELS?
Pastels are delicate, gentle colours. Think pale pink, lulling lilac,
magic mint or baby blue... and create a subtle and soothing project.

Please check out all our challenge rules in the RULES tab above.

Now let's see what our fabulous DT has come up with
inspired by the BABY & PASTELS main challenge!

Hina: This month's challenge was the perfect opportunity for me to create one more layout with my BABY's picture. I have chosen PASTEL coloured paper with lavender, soft green and a white colour scheme.

Alicja: This project was a bit challenging for me and definitely out of my comfort zone. The word BABY inspired me to use a cute photo with delicate colours. I've created the wreath using my watercolour PASTEL leaves.

Jess: I decided to scrap my now 10 year old when he was a wee BABY, using lots of gorgeous PASTEL tones. I really enjoyed this challenge as I never use pastels and I was pleasantly surprised how much I love working with them.

Edith: Even if my daughter is now 10 years old, she will always remain my little BABY. I love her today as much as the first day that I met her. I had fun playing with soft pretty PASTEL colours to go with this challenge and my photo.

Nicole: The word BABY brings back to mind my nieces when they were babies,
so tiny and precious. This was Daphne who I can't believe is now 12 years old.
They grow up so fast so I am grateful to have pictures like this one
to help me reminisce. I loved creating this layout in lovely PASTELS
- purple, blue, green and pink - to match my niece's adorable dress.

Anat: I can't believe 12 years have passed since I took this photo of my BABY girl. She's so photogenic and I still take many pictures of her. However, when she was a baby, I used to take dozens of photos of her a day, wearing different hats and outfits, in all colours, including PASTELS. I know that I'm a proud mother
as she is truly my treasure!

Daisy: For this challenge I was inspired by this beautiful picture of my niece Lena when she was a BABY. I really like this picture because there's all the information about her birth. To achieve my creation I chose to use a PASTEL blue and white colour palette which gives it a very soft look, perfect for the theme.

Daria: I incorporated this month's word on my layout with this gorgeous BABY photo as well as adding it a the title of my work. I decided that the photo would look well with PASTEL pink and yellow.

Di: I was so inspired by this challenge as since I became a grandmother I just love doing BABY layouts. I especially love to create them in PASTELS as I am lucky to have lots of beautiful baby photos. I really enjoyed this challenge
and hope that you will too.

Nuneka: This month I've created this layout for the princess of the family, my sister's BABY daughter. She's only 6 months old and she already loves butterflies and rainbows. For that reason I incorporated both on my layout,
using PASTEL tones to surround her photo.

Rosalie: I have a beautiful picture of my granddaughter Amelia taken at her first Christmas. She is the most beautiful BABY to me. I have used soft blues and PASTELS for the background as well as butterfly embellishments.

France: Flowers on a BABY picture are so adorable especially when they are swaddled up cozy and sleeping peacefully. For this layout I played with soft pink PASTEL tones to match and highlight the flower in her hair. She is just beautiful.

Mary: 'Sweet Angel', as my title says, is what came to my mind when I saw this month's word inspiration BABY. So I decided to scrap a sweet little girl surrounded by flowers in lovely shades of PASTEL pink, peach and cream.

Priya: Holding a BABY in your arms is the most amazing feeling. They are so sweet and divine. This layout is for our niece who's just 3 months old. I used nothing but PASTELS to colour my page soft and delicate.

Caroline: For this month's challenge I used an old picture. This BABY is now a teenager of 15 years! It's hard to remember that he was so tiny, but I'm glad I have pictures like this one to remind me. I used PASTEL tones for my combo as well.
Pale colours are so perfect for toddler pictures.

Oooh, how soft and sweet are these projects from our fabulous DT!?
