Special Guest Spotlight On
MARTA TURSKA-GROCHOCKA

It's time for us to introduce to you another fabulous
Special Guest Designer, not that this lady needs any introduction!

Her work never ceases to amaze and her style inspires many.

With no further ado, our October Special Guest is...

Marta Turska-Grochocka is certainly one of the best in the scrapbooking industry.
Her art is known throughout the world and has been published more times
than one can count. We are absolutely thrilled to have her join us today
with her gorgeous take on our October Main Challenge.

Let's learn a little more about Marta through her own words:

Hello everyone! I'm Marta Turska-Grochocka, known as JaMajka,
a scrapbooking artist from Poland. I create scrapbooking layouts,
mixed media art journal spreads and pages, as well as Artist
Trading Cards, cards, off-the-page projects and altered art projects.
I love colour, texture and unusual embellishments like threads and buttons.

My work has been published in Somerset Apprentice and Art Journaling,
American magazines by Stampington, in French Scrap Magazine
and Carnet de Scrap and Scrap n' Art Magazine.
I am thrilled to be part of many creative and design teams:
Finnabair, Lindy's Stamp Gang, scrapki-wyzwaniowo,
Pion Design, Retro Kraft Shop and a few other teams.

You can visit Marta at the following links:
BLOG  -  PINTEREST  -  INSTAGRAM  -  FACEBOOK  -  YOUTUBE

followed by Marta's stunning project which was inspired by it.

Read below as Marta describes in her own words how she was inspired
by our word and how she chose to incorporate our creative challenge:

The word DELICATE inspired me to create an art journal spread full of layers
in an old book. I love to create unique altered art pieces. The word was my main
inspiration tip when I was picking out colours, thus why I chose to create
with very soft shades of beige (using real coffee), gold and a drop of very pale pink.
I added very fine stamping and tiny drops of liquid pearl as well as
embossing powder on the background. The old vintage picture of a beautiful
classy lady completed my delicate composition.

To incorporate the FABRICS creative challenge, I used many fabric elements
such as cotton lace, cotton fabric tape, guipure flowers and a big fabric flower.
I tried to evoke the same textures in the gorgeous images of the challenge board.

We are absolutely stunned at Marta's beautiful spread!
From the gorgeous ivory/beige lace to the big fabric flower to the pieces
of thread, this piece of art perfectly captures the essence of our word
and all the delicateness of our creative challenge.

Let's take a look at some details:

A big THANK YOU to Marta for joining us
as our October Special Guest!

We hope that you will take inspiration from Marta's creation
and that you will play along with our October Main Challenge.

You have until October 31st to link up!

to a fault, she hates heights and almost never designs in black.
She therefore showed FEARLESS creativity when she took a leap of faith
and created this very dark and grungy mixed media canvas
with a photo of a cat sitting on the handrail of a balcony, her greatest fear!

October 2017 Main Challenge
DELICATE & FABRICS

Happy October everyone!

This month is normally all about scary things that go bump in the night!
Well, we thought that we would go against the grain
and offer you something totally different as a Main Challenge!

Our Main Challenge is based on a word inspiration and a creative challenge.
The challenge is open to layouts, canvases and art journal pages only.
Make sure to carefully read our instructions below.

Word Inspiration - DELICATE
Creative Challenge - FABRICS

What does the word DELICATE inspire you to create?
You can choose to use the actual word somewhere on your project
or simply be inspired by it.  Since, as you are aware, words
are an integral part of our challenges, we want to know
how this month's word stimulated your creative process,
so please do explain in your blog post how it inspired you!

For our creative challenge this month, we ask that you incorporate on your project some type(s) of FABRIC! You can decide to either do some lacing with your favourite satin ribbon, include a lovely piece of vintage lace, decorate with some burlap or even go trendy by adding a touch of denim. Dress up your project in whatever textile your creative heart fancies!

VERY IMPORTANT REMINDER ABOUT MTW RULES!
To be eligible to win, you have to incorporate both requirements of the challenge,
the word inspiration and the creative challenge.
Just look at our designers' projects and descriptions as examples.

You must also include our board image as well as a link to our blog in your entry post.  AND you may combine our challenge with no more than 2 other challenges.

Please check out all our challenge rules in the RULES tab above.

Now let's see what our amazing DT have come up with
to showcase this month's word and incorporate the creative challenge!

Janice: Sarah's wedding dress was layered with fine, delicate and intricate lacework. The straps were made by sewing a few pieces of the delicate lacework together, thanks to a very clever dressmaker. The dress was gorgeous, as was the bride. The chipboard pieces resemble the very delicate gypsophila, baby's breath, which the girls wore in their hair and had in their bouquets. I have added pieces of the lacework to my background and added a fabric bloom.

Valerie: My boy is super active, but he is also a very DELICATE boy. He can be so sweet and affectionate. I used a photo on which he makes his most delicate adorable smile. I added some FABRIC doilies and flowers.

Lilibleu: To illustrate this month's theme, I wanted to create a very feminine page, as DELICATE as the dress on the picture that flows slightly in the wind. I also used flowers and arabesques to reinforce this impression of delicateness. To represent FABRICS, I chose to add to my page two different types of laces, a pretty crocheted lacework under the photo and a cotton lace that I tied in a bow.

Elena: What is the most DELICATE in the world? Of course it is flowers and little girls! I really like both. I incorporated on my project these types of FABRICS: gauze, lace, ribbon and pieces of pretty fabric with beautiful roses.

Kavitha: What is more DELICATE than a little girl and flowers? I made a canvas with a beautiful little girl and lots of flowers. For the creative challenge,
I used some lace bits and FABRIC flowers.

Heather: Butterflies are so DELICATE and fragile. When I took this photo I noticed that one of the butterfly's wings seemed to be crooked, but it still could fly ok and this inspired my journaling. I used some FABRIC under my photo
which gave the art journal page more texture and depth.

Mary: The word DELICATE brought to my mind the day that every woman dreams of since she's just a little girl. On this special day, she gets dressed in a delicate wedding dress with her hair embellished with flowers and a beautiful veil... so soft and romantic... so delicate. For the creative challenge, I used two different
laces and some cheesecloth behind the photo.

Aga: With this month's challenge I wanted to show that my journals could be DELICATE. I used a lace napkin (doily) and beautiful
delicate flowers for the FABRICS creative challenge.

Di: I wanted to create a layout that was all soft and feminine. I have used a little quote that says 'a DELICATE thought is a flower of the mind' for the word part of the challenge. I have included some lace, a ribbon and some lovely
feminine mesh for the FABRICS creative challenge.

Heike: The word inspiration for this month's challenge, DELICATE, inspired me to create with some beautiful and delicate laces on my page. Also the taste of strawberries is delicate to me, so I stamped some strawberries on my background. For the creative challenge, I framed one side of my photo with a beautiful ribbon.

Pamela: Nothing is more DELICATE and fragile than new life which is why I chose this photo of my newest grandson Hudson hours after his birth. I used lace in the background and Prima lace with bling alonside the photo
to represent the FABRICS creative challenge.

Torsa: A girl in a lacy beautiful pink dress with ribbons and ruffles is holding some beautiful pink flowers. What could be more DELICATE than this beautiful combination!? Here I am inspired by our challenge board image
and created some FABRIC lacing pattern with ribbon.

Caroline: What is more DELICATE than Hibiscus petals? This flower is so soft, beautiful and feminine. This is surely one of my favourite flowers. It reminds me of vacations and Summer. For the FABRICS twist, I used two kinds of laces
behind my picture to add depth.

Nicole: The word DELICATE brought to mind the sweet and beautiful spirit of a child. My niece Ella is such a special girl who is growing up into a one of a kind young lady - kind-hearted, funny, intelligent, brave and imaginative. I hope that her spirit never fades! I incorporated the FABRICS challenge by adding strips
of beautiful lacy ribbon and a crochet doily.

Anguree: The word DELICATE evoked in my mind this beautiful poem from Ben Littlechild: 'Love is like a DELICATE flower. But no water is needed for its existence, only gentle words to feed its roots, and passion to help it grow, trust to help it stand against the breeze and kindness to carry its pollen far. And as this flower grows, so does the wonder of life. Never alone will one soul be, as long as the flower blooms, no frost to shatter its fragility.'  I added pieces of gorgeous lace ribbon
as part of the FABRICS creative challenge.

Now that you have been wowed by our designers,
